"In 1989, after we'd finished playing stadium shows with Metallica, we took 'Sonic Temple' on the road on our own. By this point we were playing large venues ourselves and it was a massive operation with a big entourage. When you get to that point it's important for everyone to know what will be happening for the duration of the show from sound and lighting guys though to road crew and even the truck drivers. Having a set that stayed consistent was part of that and a laminate was made up for everyone so at any point in the show they knew the exactly what was going on. You can see too that we never played the whole album as some songs just didn't work live."
