“Around the time of Electric I really started to develop a passion from wearing selvedge denim which kind of moved from being day wear to stage clothes too. I’d first become really interested in vintage denim in the early eighties whilst working in London in a vintage clothing store. At that time it was really hard (and expensive) to get hold of anything like that and there was quite a market for it, especially in Japan.
This Lee Jacket is one of those pieces and I can bee seen wearing it in an ‘Electric’ Era Melody maker photo shoot on the previous page.”
