"The Manchester Apollo has always held a special place in my heart, starting as a teenager seeing some of my heroes there, right though to playing our own headline shows on that famous stage.
The Cult 'Electric Tour' show on 21st March 1987 was sold out and as a memento we were presented with this award.
This particular night has alway stayed with me as with it being in my hometown my parents came and I remember my mum showing up backstage in sunglasses! She'd watched the show from the monitor board and said to me “that guy did a great job on your lights Billy”... I didn't have the heart to tell her he was doing our onstage monitors!"
