I’ve been using Ernie Ball Slinky strings since the early 1980’s and they continue to be an important part of my guitar sound, both in the studio and live. This year Ernie Ball decided to honor that partnership by asking me to be one of a select few guitarists to feature in THE PURSUIT OF TONE, a new original documentary series they are producing in partnership with AT&T here in the States. Last week in Manchester there was an Pop Up Exhibition of Photos & Prints of Billy by long time pal Mick Peek. The Exhibition featured a brand new Manchester-themed limited edition screen print, as well as a collection of 14 black & white photos of Billy taken by Mick over the years, including some never seen before images. Also included in the show was a life-size photo print of Billy’s signature Gretsch White Falcon guitar. Billy Duffy Photos & Prints – Pop-Up Exhibition

_ On Friday 26th February, Billy returns to his home town to play a sold out show with The Cult, at Albert Hall, Manchester to support their new album ‘Hidden City’. Earlier that evening, he will be appearing at a special Private View to sign photos and prints by his long-time friend, Mick Peek – at Artisan Restaurant & Gallery. Mick and Billy have previously collaborated to produce two series of signed limited edition screen print posters, all of which sold out very quickly on release. 2015 has been really busy even if I haven’t played as many shows as in previous years. JANUARY kicked off with my annual visit to NAMM, which is one of the biggest music trade shows in the world and held here in California. Live & Dangerous…

The band was on fire on throughout the Primal Cult tour and lots of people have said it was the best sound we’ve ever had! Damon Fox does an amazing job on keyboards (and second guitar) and I think that it’s changed the emphasis of the band a bit to create a more mature sound reminiscent of the Sonic Temple and Ceremony era tours. It also allows us to take more chances with the arrangements live and make the whole show much more dynamic as a result.
