At the time of writing this I’m on a rare day off in the tour and I have to say its been fantastic fun so far. “Just a quick update. With less than a couple of weeks to go before we kick off ‘Electric 13’ in San Diego I’ve been hard at work with the guys on getting ready for the tour. “It’s been great to have seen the buzz around the ‘Electric 13’ Tour since the dates were first announced and I’m really looking forward to playing all those songs live again. In February we posted the Billy & Johnny interview in which Billy and Johnny Marr talk about their friendship since school days in Wythenshawe, Manchester in the 1970s. Obviously with my commitments to recording and touring with The Cult it’s not often that I get chance to play other gigs. This week was the exception as I was asked to appear as a special secret guest alongside Billy Idol at a Rock Against MS charity event at Whiskey a Go Go in LA. We played a couple of Billy’s songs, White Wedding ad Rebel Yell, and it was great to be part of this and to support such a worthy cause. Ever record a concert on your phone? Terrible, right? Not always… Nokia asked Billy to help them to see how good their Lumia 920 phone was at capturing his unique guitar sound. To make it a true test it was pitted against the 8X by HTC and the Samsung Galaxy SIII. You can see the challenge for yourself here…
